lightCALC advanced – Step 2 – Geometry This section
is easy. Describe the space by length,
width and height. Then tell the program
where you want to measure the light by adjusting the workplace height. If you want to measure the light at floor
level, set the work plane height at 0.
If you want to measure at 5 feet, insert a 5 in this space. This height is always expressed in feet, so
if you wish to measure light 30 inches above the floor, insert a value of 2.5
to indicate two and one-half feet. Adjusting the
suspension length allows you to drop fixtures below the ceiling line. For recessed luminaires, set this value at
0. For others, express the distance in
feet from the ceiling. As you adjust
these dimensional variables, you will see the Room Cavity Ratio (RCR) value
change. This has a direct bearing on
the calculations, but cannot be manually adjusted. Please note
the change in the graphics as you add this data. Remember that you can change the graphic depiction using the
“View” toolbar at the top of the display. |
